Sisters of Mother Teresa under state control

For some analysts, the true objective is to shut down foreign NGOs to stop any possible influence of western culture on the Uzbek population.

In Uzbekistan, 90 per cent of the population is Muslim and violations of religious freedom are commonplace. The government’s aim is to control every aspect of society.

There we go again. Another case of the oppression that Christians experience in Muslim countries while Muslims riot at the mere suggestion of an "insult" against their religion.

The Cross From Ground Zero

``This cross is a sign of consolation and inspiration to workers who served at ground zero for the 10 months of recovery," said the Rev. Brian Jordan, a Franciscan priest who had blessed the T-beam days after it was pulled from the wreckage. ``Some interpret it as a cross. Others see it as an artifact that has historical and architectural importance, a reminder that is also a sign of closure."

Five years ago, the church, rattled but intact after the attack, also became a temporary morgue where the Rev. Mychal Judge, the Fire Department of New York chaplain who became the first official trade center fatality, was among those brought inside.

"Europeans Have Stopped Defending Their Values"

SPIEGEL: When something insults Muslims, we often tend to just back off -- doesn't this help defuse the conflict?

Tibi: No. That is simply giving up. And the weaker the partner is viewed by the Muslims, then the greater the anger which they express. And this anger is often carefully staged. The argument over the cartoons for example was completely orchestrated. Nothing was spontaneous. A lot of people don't know if Denmark is a country or a cheese. Where did they get the Danish flags? Protests like these are weapons in this war of ideas. Or take another example: The president of the Iranian parliament was visiting Belgium where he had an appointment with a female Belgian colleague. He refused to shake her hand, so she didn't meet with him. He left Belgium and accused her of racism. The accusation of cultural insensitivity is a weapon. And we have to neutralize it.

Anglicans Find God Outdated

The document says the church has failed at "many points" to prevent abuse. It said the clergy officiating marriages should stress that men and women are of equal worth, and that the use of the word "obey" could be seen as an outdated view of the status of women.

Here's what God says:

18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as it behoveth in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter towards them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord. Col 3:18-20

Apparently the Anglicans find the God of the Bible "outdated". Thankfully, we have Archbishop Rowan to set Him straight.

Iranian Nuclear Official Proposes France Enrich Nation's Uranium

PARIS — Iran has proposed that France create a consortium to enrich Tehran's uranium, saying that could satisfy international demands for outside oversight of the nuclear program.

One of the few times Steven Paul did not ridicule a comment I made about the book was when I suggested that Paris would one day become Babylon the Great. The characteristics of said city described in Apocalypse - Letter by Letter are: Roman Catholic City in Europe that apostatizes, is near enough to the Sea for smoke to be seen when the city burns, derives riches from both Europe and Middle East, is willing to spill the blood of the faithful...

France has already proved that there is no moral principle that exceeds their self-interest. They openly campaigned against Washington in the UN Security Council prior to the Iraq War and recently did their usual about face on Iran. In both cases their financial interests outweighed the security of the rest of the world. They seem to believe they can inoculate themselves from radical Islam but the recent riots proved otherwise. Indeed, that the resident Muslims turned on them so violently is a precursor to the fate they will suffer during the third woe.

If France is willing to process uranium for Iran, you can bet that they have a deal in place to send it back for whatever Iran wants to do with it. There would be more money to be made that way.
