Signature Events

So, if you have read the book, then you might be curious if any of the current events we are experiencing relate to the signature events in the book. What is the next major event according to the Apocalypse? It is the 200 million horsemen.

As I pondered what the late author wrote, I wondered if the 200 million horsemen are purely a military force, or if they are more behind the scenes running institutions such as governments, pseudo-governments like the EU, WTO, etc. Or are they spread into more social rather than political institutions such as higher education, the press, large corporations, and such, all interconnected through masonry or some other secret societies.

The author seemed to allow for both interpretations. If the event is purely military, then it will be easy to detect. But if it is the gradual erosion of all Christian morals and ethics from the world through corrosive social change, then it may just already be well underway.

It's easy to look to each flareup of violence in the Middle East and assume that it relates to the next phase of the apocalypse. But there are other equally tantalizing events around the world. Steven Paul mentioned that the word okloi in Greek really means disordered mobs. When one looks at the organized protests around the world targeted against any western virtue, the description seems to fit. Just look at the protests against the US and Israel during the recent Lebanese conflict. And look at who is behind them. Certainly something's afoot.

Apocalypse Letter by Letter

Regarding the book "The Apocalypse - Letter by Letter: A Literary Analysis of the Book of Revelation", getting this book published was one of the hardest things I ever did, yet I felt driven to do so. It's amazing how difficult it is to publish a Catholic book outside the "establishment". I tried to get other authors to endorse it but most said they were too busy. Only one actually took the time to read it and say something I could use.

And then there was the response of the diocesan censors. One diocese called to say that they would not be approving the book because "it is not without defect in theology." But they never provided written comments and were never able to state what exactly the defect was. A second diocese took seven months to write back saying that while the book tracked with traditional Catholic thought on the Apocalypse, it would take too long to research it and therefore they could not approve it.

Even more indifferent did the universities' theology departments prove to be. Of the two or three that bothered to write back, all said they were just too busy.

If the Bible itself were presented for an imprimatur in these times, I wonder if it would get reviewed and approved. I bet the current establishment would be too busy to read something so long. And the current crop of damage control experts would never approve the content of some of the Bible anyway, would they?
